Canada vs. Denmark?
Many of you south of the border may not have heard of our border dispute but you can read about it here if interested.
Hans Island has been in the news (front page too) since last year if I remember correctly. Many see our move on this island to be something that we can call on to show that Canada is taking action to ensure it retains sovereignty on other islands. (Especially as the US wants us to believe our waters are really International waters)
Clicking on this link will take you to a Copenhagen Post article where the VP of Greenland says that our "Canadian minister's trip to a disputed island is an act of occupation." It is an interesting read.
Now, the BEST reporting done on this issue by far was found here at The Globe and Mail. In this article they compare both nations armies and conclude that Canada would whoop Denmark's ass.
WTF?

There is a similar dispute between Canada and the US on the other side of the Arctic on the border between Alaska and the Yukon. It's interesting stuff but now that we have four reasonably modern deisel-electric submarines we should start showing the Maple Leaf up there more often.
