Repost - rewind
In February of 2004 my friend Kristy wrote this piece. (Her blog has since fallen into complete disuse) I loved it when I first read it and decided to bring it up from the ashes, shake off the bugs and display it here again. (She worked at a baby supply store)
An Ode to my Customers
Its amazing how you are carrying a Louis Vuitton bag with a Prada wallet, and yet our prices are never low enough
Your hair and makeup are always done, so much so that you cant get your maxed out credit card out of your wallet with your newly painted nails
You drive an SUV,and yet you have never seen dirt roads, and you never will
You buy 18 dollar diaper cream, but yet have never changed a diaper..that's what the nanny is for
you manage to do Pilates, Yoga, and to see your personal trainer, but somehow its too much energy to reach to the top shelf to put something back you took down...that's what the sales girl is for
Your cell phone is always on your ear, even when you are asking questions, and yet if we walk away, you somehow are able to get off long enough to yell out "wait, i'm not done! I have more questions!"
If one credit card is maxed out, have no fear, we can always use another..if that doesnt work, we can phone the bank..or put half on one card and half on the other
Even though you are 8 months pregnant, heels and tight tops are essential...you are proud to be pregnant...and having your whole stomach show makes sure everyone knows it
No matter how nice the sales people are to you its important to be rude and snotty so that they know you have money, and you are going to spend it..or at least, Visa has money and you can pay them back..nonetheless,being nice is not an option
You need the best, but the lowest price..you need the most popular, but not what everyone else has..you need time to decide, but you are in a GIANT rush...it must be hard to be you..
Actually,it probably is
