Working over the holidays?
My regular shift takes me from Wed - Sat, 7am to 7pm. My company is open on Xmas day and running all day and night. They asked me to be on call that day and for some reason I accepted their offer. (only phone support needed, for one area, shouldn't be any problem) And if I do get called at all they have to pay me for 4 hours regardless of how long the fix takes.
Anyone else asked to work?
Anyone else's work open?

I wasn't directly asked to work, but I did end up bringing work home. Does that count?

it was a little of both, they "suggested" it would be nice if I did take the work home, and that's when I mentioned I was going to take the work home. Just about everyone in my office ended up taking files home to work on over the holiday.
I just thought I would be able to get a head start on the mess thats going to be waiting for me when I get back to work on Wednesday. An insurance company that we do work for has closed their doors for the holidays until Jan.3/06 and we are getting all their work until then. My bosses were saying that I should expect over 1000 claims in that week long period, and that's in addition to the regular stuff I have to do. It should be fun!!
