Free publishing? Totally free?

I haven't had much of a chance to look at this fully yet but it seems this site offers FREE publishing of your written material.

Lulu

From what I can see, if someone orders your book from Lulu, Amazon, Borders, etc. THEN Lulu will print up your book. They make money off the cost of your book as follows:

(I used the maximum cost to illustrate)

Binding Fee: $4.53
Colour per page: $0.15 (B&W is $0.02)

So a 150 page book would net them $7.53 (B&W) off whatever you want to charge for the book.

How much does it cost to use Lulu?
Publishing through Lulu is free. There is no set-up fee and no requirement that you buy copies of your work. One of the primary advantages of Lulu is that you don't have to invest any money up front - you can publish your work for free on Lulu and then market it to all and sundry. When someone wants to buy your content, Lulu handles the transaction and pays you the royalty you specified.

Lulu takes a small commission when someone else buys your content. Lulu's commission consists of a small markup of the amount you set as your royalty. The purchase price of books, calendars, CDs and DVDs also includes a base cost for the raw materials and printing service.

Now no, I am not writing some book I want you all to buy... but my roommate has been and maybe this will be of interest to him or some others?
