10 days!
10 days on an MVIIC
I just finished fixing a machine an hour ago. Why is this blog worthy? It took me 10 days to finish it. (5.5 12-hour work days spread over the 10 days it was down) The sense of accomplishment is grand right now. They gave me a $50.00 gift card usable at 6 different restaurants. I feel accomplished but very tired mentally.
For any who might care the machine was a Panasonic MVIIC (an old machine, ready to just break down at any time) and it needed it's X-Y axis table leadscrews replaced along with some other tweaks etc. It took a few days to narrow down the problems then more time to get the parts in, work with other shifts and install everything. Since the machine was so old removing bearings and joints from around the leadscrew took a hammer and a few hours. Many things to break, but the machine looks good now and runs tight.
Above is a picture of a 2nd generation machine for an idea.
Phew. It's over...
