Hey Nostradamus! (keep in mind, I'm not being critical of the work or of the author's ideas.. I found this book made me think a lot...so I kept a notebook close at hand for all the times it made me think)

*Pg.15

Youth Alive!... every time I read that name I want to pump my arm in the air, smile and pose!

Youth Alivers! are what the Hyper-Youth-Christian group in this book are called. People who are so concerned with their primary goal of getting to heaven at the end that they basically fear anything that might come between them and their God. To some people that might not sound so bad as an idea,
but when you are part of the world yet afraid that being in it will corrupt you...

A life based on fear is not a life that's free.

Scared of long hair, scared of certain types of music, scared of the beach. (scantily clad images overrun Christians with lust too strong to oppose by the chastity of the word.. oh no!) Scared also of anyone who takes a day off.. doesn't tell the group where they are at all times, doesn't conform to all prevalent ideas.. which abound on every thing about life.. clothes, attitudes, acceptable marriages.. *sigh* way too tiring.

Pg.18

"to feel fear is to not fully trust God" - Youth Alive!

Proverbs 3:25 "Be not afraid of sudden fear...when it cometh"

We know fear can come... and that at times fear can wake us up... we all succum to "sudden fear". To a loud noise, bad news, guns, bombs..doesn't mean a life in fear, or where fear takes over all other reactions.
