Refugees out? What!?
Now is the time for the United States to approach the United Nations about the need for the removal of world refugees from the United States...Removal of world refugees from the United States should start immediately with the help of United Nations; and the United Nations should seek other countries in which to shelter the world refugees now in the United States. All the Government housing in the United States should at the present be available for the American Refugees from New Orleans not the World Refugees. Lets not forget the jobs that are provided to the World Refugees; these jobs should be given to the refugees from New Orleans.
Says: Sadie
The response?
We ought to at least stop inviting "refugees" here, if we cannot expel the existing lot--of which there are thousands, including some with less-than credible needs for refuge. Says: Melody-Jeanne
They are not asking for future refugee claimants to be given priority as usual except for housing requirements for those affected by these two hurricanes. They are asking for the removal of all refugees from the States. 'They steal our jobs and our houses. They are only here because they lied.' Wow. The well thought out position of these two ladies of the world astounds me.

THANK YOU for your comment Eileen!
It is horrible to have had to live through that experience but you survived it, built on it, and are the person you are today with that in your past and I suppose strengthened by overcoming it. Though the label racist could be easy to apply these ladies could be of any colour or identity but what they do come across as for sure is Nationally Protectionist at the cost of ethics and morality. I bet they LOVE the patriot act.. (I know I am assuming AND being an ass..)

The sad, ugly truth is that far too many north americans actually don't believe that "refugees" are worth the same as whatever they are, basically white anglo-saxon blah blah blah. (What does she mean by the quotes anyway?)
I'm beyond horrified by the audacity of Sadie and Melody-Jeanne to actually publish these thoughts... what because "real" americans are in need we should punish "fake" ones? the ones with darker skin and accents? the ones who came here because they were in need, and in many cases suffered in ways beyond the scope of imagination of most americans? Like it's a crime to not speak english. and to be a productive member in the society they've chosen to join, more productive than than those who were born here usually.
It's an ugly ugly world we live in. god help us...
